After graduating from The George Washington University School of Medicine, he completed his anesthesiology residency at Weill Cornell Medical College in New York and a fellowship in Pain Management at the David Geffen School of Medicine at UCLA. He boasts an impressive track record in pain management, anesthesiology, and addiction medicine. As a board-certified physician in anesthesiology and pain medicine, Dr. Peterson has supported various clients in managing their chronic pain with a combination of medical expertise and empathy. His approach to care revolves around treating each client as a unique person, crafting tailored treatment plans to help them effectively manage their pain.
Inspired by his personal experience with substance use, Dr. Peterson is dedicated to helping those struggling with chemical dependence. In 2014, he became a Diplomate of the American Board of Addiction Medicine, expanding his practice to offer comprehensive substance use treatment to those in need. He firmly believes that anyone can achieve lasting recovery with the right care and support. Dr. Peterson's multidisciplinary approach to substance use treatment integrates spirituality and the power of personal connection.
Dr. Peterson is licensed to practice medicine in California and is DEA-registered to prescribe controlled substances. He currently serves as Medical Director of NuView's outpatient facility, a role he has held since 2020, alongside his private practice in pain management and addiction medicine, which he has run since 2015.
Apart from being a skilled and experienced physician, Dr. Peterson is an active member of several professional organizations, including the American Medical Association, the American Society of Anesthesiologists, and the California Society of Anesthesiologists. He is also affiliated with the American Society of Regional Anesthesia and Pain Medicine, the American Society of Addiction Medicine, and the California Society of Addiction Medicine.
