Who Writes Our Content?
All our content is created by the NuView Editorial Team and published under NuView's name. The NuView Editorial Team is made up of our content team and experienced health writers who create educational content on substance use, mental health, and recovery.
How our team works:
- Contributing Writers: Experienced health writers who specialize in substance use and mental health topics and follow our sourcing and style standards.
- Editors: Our editing team edits every draft, and verifies facts and sources.
- Medical and Clinical Review: Every article is reviewed before publication by licensed NuView clinicians Dr. Ryan Peterson, MD, and Linda Whiteside, MA, LPCC, and Joseph Mwangi, PMHNP-BC. "Medically Reviewed by" or "Clinically Reviewed by" mentioned under our pages/articles means the clinician checked the content, not that they wrote it.

Who Reviews Our Content?
Every page containing clinical information is reviewed by a qualified member of our clinical team before it goes live.

What Does a Reviewer Check?
A reviewer confirms the following before a page is allowed to be published.
The clinical reviewer checks whether clinical and medical descriptions are accurate and reflect evidence-based practices. They verify whether diagnostic information is educational and never presented as a tool for self-diagnosis. They also confirm whether the crisis and emergency information is correct and up-to-date.
The clinical reviewer checks whether medication and substance use concerns are presented for educational purposes. No information on this site should be used to begin, stop, or adjust a medication without consulting your doctor or prescriber. At the same time, they ensure we do not include sourcing details for substance use, describe methods of use and intoxication in ways that read as appealing, or lead with mortality statistics.
The clinical reviewer makes sure that the pages that discuss self-harm or suicide are reviewed using established safe messaging standards, including the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention’s (AFSP) established guidelines. The reviewer verifies that no means or methods or dosing details are mentioned, and that mortality statistics are not used for effect. They also ensure that a clear path to crisis support is mentioned.
If you are in crisis, you do not have to read any further. Call or text 9-8-8, or call 9-1-1 for emergencies.

Where Our Information Comes From?
Clinical information on our site is grounded in established, public sources, such as the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA), the National Institutes of Health (NIH), the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), state and federal agencies, professional organizations, peer-reviewed articles, and other established behavioral health treatment authorities.
The sources we use depend on the type of content we create. We link these sources directly in our pages and articles so that readers can review them and make their own informed inferences or decisions.
Health statistics and clinical claims are cited to government health agencies, licensing bodies, and peer-reviewed studies. We date the statistics and studies we cite, so you can judge how recent they are.
We do not cite treatment providers’ marketing pages or blogs, but the local resources listed on our location pages, such as crisis lines, county access lines, hospitals, and public clinics, are verified against the respective resources’ own published information before a page goes live.

How We Use AI?
We may use AI tools for formatting, structuring, and editing. We do not publish AI-generated clinical content without human clinical review, and no page on this site is published without a real person reviewing it.

How Often Our Content Is Updated?
Clinical content on the NuView website is re-reviewed every year, and immediately when clinical evidence or our own programs change.
Local crisis and treatment resources are re-verified every three months.
Our articles have their most recently reviewed date. If an older article is no longer accurate and we are not able to update it, we will remove it.
Our location pages display two dates - when the page was last updated, and when its local resources were last verified.

What We Do Not Do?
There are some practices that we carefully avoid with the content published on this site:
- We do not publish clinical content without clinical review.
- We do not claim that outcomes are guaranteed or mention success rates without providing the underlying evidence.
- We do not present NuView as having a physical location in a city where it does not operate. NuView is located in Los Angeles, and our location pages clearly mention this information.
- We do not name specific insurance plans as accepted or excluded on service pages - coverage is confirmed on the basis of a specific policy by our admissions team, as it depends on your particular plan.
- We do not accept payment for editorial coverage, and we do not publish sponsored content or paid guest posts.
- We do not use the stories, photographs, or identifying details of the people we serve without written authorization.
