VA Community Care at NuView Treatment Center
VA Community Care lets eligible Veterans receive care from providers outside VA facilities. NuView is an in-network provider within the VA Community Care Network (CCN), administered by TriWest.
The VA determines eligibility and approves referrals. If you already have a referral or authorization, our admissions team can confirm the details and help you get started.
How to Get Started Through the VA
Getting started generally follows these steps:

Your VA provider submits the referral
This confirms you meet the eligibility criteria for VA Community Care. - 03
The VA approves the referral
Once approved, it's routed to the appropriate community care administrator. - 04

Once everything is confirmed, we coordinate the remaining details so you can get started.

You can call us at any point. We can explain the process and check where you stand, but your VA provider submits the referral, and the VA approves it.
Spouses and dependents are generally covered through TRICARE rather than VA Community Care. See coverage and treatment for military families.
A discharge type doesn't automatically rule out getting help. The VA says some of its mental health services are available no matter your discharge status, and you can walk into any VA medical center in a crisis. Broader VA benefits, including VA Community Care, depend on the VA's eligibility decision. At NuView you can also use commercial insurance or self-pay. Call admissions to talk through your options.
When you use VA benefits, some information is shared with the VA for care coordination and authorization. HIPAA protections still apply, and admissions can explain what's shared in your case.
