After participating in the 2026 Veteran Health & Wellness Conference, NuView strengthened its commitment to making substance use and mental health treatment more accessible for eligible veterans.

Los Angeles, California, Oct. 7th, 2026 - NuView Treatment Center, a provider of substance abuse disorder  and  mental health treatment, recently participated in the 2026 Veteran Health & Wellness Conference at Irvine Valley College in Irvine, California. NuView's team, led by Daniel Lathrop, joined veterans, families, clinicians, and community leaders to brainstorm and understand how eligible veterans may be able to better access behavioral health treatment in their own communities via VA Community Care.

NuView collaborates with TriWest and participates in the VA Community Care Network. Through this program, eligible veterans may receive treatment from approved community providers when eligibility and authorization requirements are met. For many veterans, this means access to the care they need and deserve closer to home and a broad range of treatment options.

"I’m grateful to be a part of this conference. We participated to listen, build relationships, and better understand how NuView can support veterans and their families,"said Daniel Lathrop, Director of Business Development and Admissions, NuView Treatment Center.

Held last September 17, 2026, under the theme "Veterans, Addiction, and Recovery," the conference brought together healthcare providers, researchers, advocates for veterans, and community leaders for a full day of sessions on recovery and veteran wellness. Topics spanned from medication-assisted treatment for substance use disorders, new frontiers in addiction research, and the treatment of combat-related alcohol and substance use, to sustainable court-community models that support veterans. The event focused on improving health and wellness for veterans, their families, and underserved veteran communities.

"Being part of the veteran community means showing up, earning trust, and helping eligible veterans understand the treatment options available through VA Community Care,”  said Lathrop.

NuView provides evidence-based, personalized treatment for those seeking care for substance use disorders, mental health conditions, and co-occurring substance use and mental health concerns. As these challenges often overlap, addressing them together can be an important part of recovery.

Many veterans and families may sometimes not be aware that treatment outside a VA facility is an option as well. Eligibility for VA Community Care is determined by the VA, and authorization is required before treatment begins. NuView's team can answer general questions and help families understand the next steps.

Veterans and family members who would like more information about treatment options, or about whether VA Community Care may apply to them, can contact NuView Treatment Center at (323) 307-7997.
